North Canterbury Food & Wine Events
Seafest, Kaikoura - Saturday 1st October 2011
Situated on the northern Canterbury coast, Kaikōura Seafest is an annual festival of local wine and food and a celebration of the abundance of the ocean and all it represents for the Kaikōura region.
Kaikōura is renowned not only for whale watching but for its stunning crayfish (or lobster).
In fact "kai kōura" actually means "eat crayfish" and the Kaikōura Seafest is your chance!
An impressive variety of products, predominantly from the local Kaikōura, Marlborough and North Canterbury regions, is offered at Kaikōura Seafest and presented in many wonderfully creative ways — all enjoyed with continuous live entertainment throughout the day.
